“Rothschild & Co” is a global financial-advisory and wealth-management group. The Paris-listed parent was taken private in 2023.

The UK regulated entity in London is N M Rothschild & Sons Limited (Companies House 00925279). It is a subsidiary of the group.

The 2023 take-private

Until October 2023, Rothschild & Co SCA was listed on Euronext Paris.

A tender offer was launched by Rothschild & Co Concordia SAS (Paris RCS 499 208 932).

Concordia held 38.8% of share capital and 47.5% of voting rights pre-offer.

Who is the controller now

The Person of Significant Control (PSC) for both Rothschild & Co Continuation Limited (UK 00371601) and Rothschild & Co Wealth Management UK Limited (UK 04416252) is now personally Alexandre Guy Francesco de Rothschild, DOB December 1980.

The corporate chain in London

  • Controlled by Rothschild & Co Continuation Limited (00371601) which holds 75%+ of shares and votes since 13 May 2020.
  • NMR Sons active directors include Anthony James de Rothschild and CEO Robert Mark Leitão.

What this means

The London bank is controlled by Alexandre de Rothschild (David’s branch — son of David René de Rothschild). Not Nat Rothschild (Jacob’s branch).

Nat Rothschild has no operational role at N M Rothschild & Sons Limited. He never has.

The Rothschild family in 2026 is split into branches with separate vehicles. The London bank, RIT Capital, the Yad Hanadiv foundation, the Five Arrows funds, the Edmond de Rothschild banking group in Switzerland — these are governed by different family members through different structures.

Concordia BV vs Concordia SAS

Two different “Concordia” entities. Do not confuse them.

  • Rothschild & Co Concordia SAS — French, sits above the listed parent. Was the take-private offeror.
  • Concordia BV — Dutch, sits inside the group as a subsidiary. Owns Rothschilds Continuation Holdings AG in Switzerland.
