Sorcha O’Neill
Chairperson, Social Democrats · Former Naas & Kildare County Councillor · Naas resident since 2002
Sorcha O’Neill is chairperson of the Social Democrats and the elected political lead on the Naas data centre campaign. She mapped the Naas Local Area Plan, the P1 and P2 zonings, and organised the local response. The corporate-stack and JWCC/USAA threads in this archive build on the local research and campaign she is running.

Herbata Limited registered (CRO 669555, 9 April 2020). Gerry Prendergast holds the Business/Commercial seat on Kildare County Council’s Economic Development, Enterprise and Planning SPC while zoning is written.

Naas Local Area Plan adopted
Public consultation 9 March – 21 April 2021. Plan period 2021–2027. Three data centre zonings clustered around the M7/R409 interchange.

Mission Critical E2 Limited incorporated at the same suite
CRO 712860, 2 February 2022, Millennium Park, Naas. Prendergast is co-founder, director and company secretary alongside James and Jeanne Richmond.

Put and Call Option Agreement filed with the SEC
9 April 2024. Herbata → Mission Critical / e2. Preference share structure documented: €4.17m from MIH Group Central UC, €833k from Daisymeadow Ltd (both Lisgrew, Emyvale).

KCC grants permission for the Herbata site (P1) with 77 conditions
Third parties and the developer both appeal. The developer does not appeal Condition 4 (full grid connection). Ecological conditions are the subject of the developer’s appeal.

Data centres reach 23% of Ireland’s electricity
Up from 5% in 2015. Q4 2025 consumption: 1,991 GWh (CSO).

P2 zoning — no application yet
The second Naas zoning has no live application. Under the LAP process, residents can ask the Naas MD to vary the plan and remove the P — Data Centre zoning before an application arrives.
